Declaration of Sustainability

Sustainability is at the core of everything we do. Through a long-term approach and ongoing efforts to reduce our environmental impact, we strive to make a positive difference.

Sustainability is a natural and important part of our business. We believe in a long-term approach to business and a continuous reduction on the impact we have on our planet. Being a personal protective equipment (PPE) supplier, Ejendals want to be a leader in health and safety for all the people part of our business and throughout our supply chain. In addition, our product offering will help our customers to improve their safety per-formance and protect the hands and feet of their employees.

In preparation towards EU CSRD requirements, we have performed a double materiality analysis (DMA) in 2024, on which we build on and declare our key topics and present targets for 2025.

We have selected and decided to focus on the following UN Sustainable Development Goals:

HEALTH & SAFETY

Ejendals collaborate with customers using our Safety Concept to protect their employees' hands and feet. Internally, we use the same tool as many of our customers to proactively improve employee H&S.

Our suppliers also adhere to our Code of Conduct, which emphasizes H&S, and we work with them to enhance these aspects in their operations.

Targets 2025:

  • Zero LTIs (Lost Time Injuries)
  • 300 H&S reports, preferably risk observations
  • Investigate H&S occurrences faster (average <30d)

ETHICS (CSR)

Ejendals conducts ethical business with distributors, end user companies, and suppliers.
Our employees are trained in our Code of Conduct. Business partners adhere to ethical standards outlined in a separate CoC for Business.
We provide an external whistleblower mechanism for reporting concerns.

Targets 2025:

  • 100% signed CoC by product-related suppliers
  • 80% direct material suppliers 3rd-party OH&S-audited
  • Initiate 40 EHS improvements at our suppliers

ENERGY & WASTE

We use 100% renewable electricity at our Nordic sites, implementing energy-efficient measures like LED lighting and roof insulation. Our Jokipii facility has a 400+ MWh/year solar panel system, and we are investigating a new GHG-saving heating system. We prioritize waste minimization in product and process design, emphasizing recyclable waste and improving recycling markings on packaging.

Targets 2025:

  • Electricity + Heating <2400 kWh / MSEK.
  • Waste <155 kg / MSEK.
  • Improve supplier packaging and markings.
  • Investigate new heating system in Jokipii.

PRODUCTS & INNOVATION

New products should be more sustainable while maintaining high standards of durability and quality.
To achieve this, we will embrace eco-design principles by implementing sustainable materials that have lower GHG emissions, such as recycled and bio-based materials.
We aim to design products that are energy and resource-efficient with minimal environmental impact.
We optimize packaging by reducing materials, especially plastics, and increasing recycled content.

Targets 2025:

  • Determine the product environmental footprint of our key products using Life Cycle Assessments (LCA).
  • Develop EPDs for a glove and a shoe model.
  • Transition to sustainable material alternatives when feasible for new product development initiatives.
  • Expand our eco-labelled products and ensure transparency in communicating sustainability data

GHG (CO2EMISSIONS

We will report our total greenhouse gas emissions (Scopes 1–3) according to CSRD requirements in 2025.
Our ongoing commitment is to reduce Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions, while improving Scope 3 calculations.
Our products are a significant source of Scope 3 emissions, and as part of our Products & Innovation targets, we will implement cradle-to-gate GHG data for our products to enhance data quality.
To drive GHG reduction, we actively focus on optimization of transport, distribution efficiency and packaging.

Targets 2025:

  • First total GHG emissions reporting
  • Increase electric car usage in our fleet

CHEMICALS MANAGEMENT

We ensure compliance with existing legislation, such as REACH, to prevent harmful chemicals in our products. We aim to proactively enhance our understanding on all chemicals used in manufacturing of our products and to add resources while building competence.

Targets 2024:

  • Enhance the mapping of chemicals within our supply chain and material manufacturing.
  • Internal chemical management training starting with product and sourcing managers.
