Ejendals – Protecting People Since 1949

Founded in 1949 by Valfrid Ejendal in the charming town of Leksand, Sweden, Ejendals has grown from a small family business into a leading manufacturer of personal protective equipment (PPE). Today, our company is recognized as a market leader in Scandinavia and beyond, known for our high-quality TEGERA Safety Gloves and JALAS Safety Shoes.

From the beginning, our founder's motto was simple:

Valfrid Ejendal believed that safety should always be a top priority and that our customers should have access to the products they need without delay. This commitment to rapid service and reliable protection laid the foundation for the Ejendals you know today.

From Safety Gloves to Comprehensive Protection

Over the years, we’ve expanded our product offerings, starting with safety gloves and later adding safety shoes in the 1970s. Our collaboration with the Finnish company Urho Viljanmaa OY, which produces safety shoes under the brand name "JALAS," was a significant step forward. In 2008, we formed the Ejendals Group, which continues to produce and distribute safety gloves under the brand "TEGERA" and safety shoes under the "JALAS" name. We’ve even expanded our range to include items such as work socks, insoles, and protective sleeves, ensuring comprehensive protection and comfort for workers.

Ejendals' Holistic Approach to Workplace Safety

But at Ejendals, we believe safety is about more than just products. Our mission is to reduce workplace injuries through a holistic approach that includes consultation, education, and ongoing support. We know that hands and feet are the most vulnerable in workplace accidents, accounting for more than half of all injuries. That’s why our "Ejendals Safety Concept" goes beyond offering top-tier products—it encompasses training, safety assessments, and continuous feedback to help our customers create safer working environments.

Honoring 75 Years of Safety with a Focus on the Future

Our journey has been one of hard work, dedication, and a commitment to our founding values. "It’s important to us to maintain the family feel within Ejendals, even as we continue to grow each year," says Marcus Ejendal, who has been leading the company since 2012 as the third generation of the Ejendal family.

Our history is a driving force for our future, and we’re dedicated to continuing the legacy started by my grandfather, Valfrid, and my father, Per-Olof, who sadly passed away in December 2024. Looking ahead, we will continue to invest in the company to protect more hands and feet, reach more markets, and provide even better protection. Our vision extends into the next 25 years, ensuring that we continue to build on our legacy and that Ejendals will mark its 100th anniversary with even greater success.
