Originally developed in 2004 through extensive customer studies, the TEGERA development team collaborated closely with ergonomic experts and craftsmen to grasp the nuances of various work environments. The S-thumb
Lena Prytz, who served as the product owner of TEGERA Pro at Ejendals during their development, now holds the position of Supplier Quality Engineering Director. She shares the story behind the creation of the S thumb, which has become somewhat of a signature for TEGERA since its inception. During the development of the new glove collection, the development team, comprised of Ejendals developers, professors, and ergonomics experts, meticulously designed every aspect of each glove model. The S thumb emerged as a solution to allow the thumb to bend without encountering resistance from the glove.
The TEGERA PRO Evolution
Lena Prytz shares that the idea for TEGERA PRO came into being with a focus on creating a collection featuring the very best materials for an extended product lifespan and a complete emphasis on ergonomics for the best fit possible. At that time, safety gloves and work gloves were typically regarded as consumable products meant to be very cheap. However, these gloves lacked good dexterity and fingertip sensitivity, leading workers to frequently remove them while working.
TEGERA PRO marked a significant leap forward in safety gloves, setting a new industry standard. It also introduced the iconic black, grey, and yellow design that has since become synonymous with TEGERA gloves, making them easily recognizable.
