Ejendals awarded EcoVadis 2026 Silver Medal for sustainability
A Silver Medal and a place among the top 7%, our highest-ever score. But what does the latest EcoVadis sustainability rating actually mean for Ejendals and our customers? Tommi Ratilainen, EHSQ & Sustainability Manager at Ejendals, takes us through the results, the progress behind them and why they matter.
Ejendals achieves its highest-ever EcoVadis score
- Environment: 90 points
- Sustainable Procurement: 89 points
- Ethics: 84 points
- Labour & Human Rights: 68 points
Ejendals has achieved its highest-ever EcoVadis sustainability score, receiving 79 out of 100 points in the 2026 assessment. The result places us in the top 7% of companies assessed by EcoVadis and brings Ejendals back to Silver Medal level, following last year’s Bronze Medal.
We received our latest EcoVadis assessment in July, improving our overall score from 70 to 79 points. This means we moved up from the top 17% last year to the top 7% this year.
Our highest ever score for Environment
EcoVadis assesses companies across four corporate social responsibility (CSR) areas: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.
Our strongest result this year is in Environment, where we achieved 90 points, an all-time high for Ejendals and a clear sign that our environmental work is moving in the right direction.
Our work on carbon footprint, from both a corporate and product sustainability perspective, has contributed significantly to this improvement.
Understanding the environmental footprint of our operations and products helps us identify where we can make improvements and provide customers with better information to support their own sustainability decisions.
Progress across all four CSR areas
We also improved our results in the other three areas assessed by EcoVadis.
In Labour & Human Rights, our score increased from 62 to 68 points, following several improvements in the documentation and information we provide for the assessment. We will continue to focus on this area, as there is still room for further improvement.
Ethics and Sustainable Procurement both reached all-time highs, with scores of 84 and 89 points respectively.
Together, the results show progress across all four areas assessed by EcoVadis.
What is EcoVadis?
EcoVadis provides sustainability ratings for companies, providing an independent assessment of how companies manage key sustainability topics.
For Ejendals, the assessment provides an external view of our sustainability work. It helps us understand where we are making progress, where further improvements are needed and where to focus our efforts going forward.
For our customers, the rating provides additional insight into how we manage important sustainability topics as a company. This can be particularly valuable for customers and procurement teams that consider sustainability performance when evaluating suppliers and making purchasing decisions.
Achieving 79 points and a place in the top 7% is an important milestone, but the assessment is also a valuable tool for our continued sustainability work. A strong result does not mean the work is finished, it helps us see where we can continue to improve.
We will analyse the results in more detail to identify where our future efforts should be focused.
